The Federal Government has stated that nanotechnology "is likely to change the way almost everything – from vaccines to computers to automobile tires to objects not yet imaginable – is designed and made."
The Project on Emerging Nanotechnologies helps to ensure that as nanotechnologies advance, possible risks are minimized, public and consumer engagement remains strong, and potential new benefits are realized. The Project Web site includes news, events, topics, publications, inventories of nanotechnology applications, and more.
The Project was established in April 2005 as a partnership between the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars and the Pew Charitable Trusts.
